Another Easy 30 minutes relaxed run…. I am supposed to keep the pace really relaxed and try to think about breathing consistently throughout.. It says if you ned to walk some of it… there is no shame in that. I think I shall remember this later on when the training gets tougher and longer but for now I shall try and manage to run for 30 minutes even if I have to slow the pace down.
The target is to run at 12:43min/mile.. I actually end up running 12.23 min/mile. I think I end up running faster as my shoe lace came undone so I had to pause and then when I start running again I think oh no… the treadmill will take it’s time to get back to the pace that I am supposed to run at and then I think…. hmm I can manage this pace therefore I just leave it.
It seems to me that I find it difficult to to settle into a nice breathing pattern whenever I first start to run. It is strange really as I didn’t really alter the pace so that I would get used to running at a consistent pace. I start to remember all the advice people give to you about breathing and before you know it…. I am settled… I need to remember not to push myself too hard and that I cannot just pick up where I left off running over 12 years ago!!
I also have a game plan of listening to an ‘Audible book’ when I am doing an Easy Run… that way I will not be tempted to increase the running speed when on a treadmill as this is something I always do when I run to music!
