Sunday 8th December 2024:- Long Run – 40 minutes

Today’s run was about building up my long runs…. Last week it was 30 minutes and my average pace was 12:38 min/mile. Tonight I pushed myself way too hard…. I started running at a speed of 5.5mph. Why you may ask yourself why? That is the same question that I have asked myself. The reason being is I just fancied pushing myself hard tonight to see how long I would be able to maintain this pace at. I keep thinking that I would like to be able to run 10 minute miles! I know who am I kidding at this stage… Remember the 80/20 rule…. So in future I will cut back on the pace.

The worst part is… I can’t even remember how long I managed to keep up that pace for. I decided that the best option was to drop my speed. Surprise surprise my run started to become soooo much easier.

Breakdown of miles

I was impressed with my first mile but no way at this stage will I be able to maintain it for 2 miles… let alone 26.2 miles.

I felt worst than what this photo is reflecting!! I had to give myself that little chat to keep going for the whole 40 minutes!! But wahooo… I did it.

In KM rather than miles… Just for a change!
