Wahooo…. it’s the first Friday of December and that can only mean one thing… It is our annual overnight camp for Panto Tickets… Oh no it isn’t… oh yes it is.
We have had our Chinese which was really yummy this year!! We set up our first little camp before we can move into our usual spot.
We are all set for a fun night…. Storm Darragh is on its way…… but we are pro’s at this overnight camping. Our mum used to wake us all up in the early hours of the morning. Deborah and I talked about how much fun we have had over the years from a young age… I think Deborah was 7 years old with her first wake-up…. Not sure if I was waken that year or not! Over the years we have seen people come and go with joining the queue for Whitstable Lindley Player’s Panto. We all giggle and laugh about who is going to wake who up. Not many people camp out like we used to. I miss Glyn Maflin telling his stories about his time on the stage…Mind you, at least we now get to sleep for longer… so that is a bonus.
Aaawww a nice man arrived and we have a little chat with him. Whilst I am packing up our camping kit, a member of staff arrives to hand out the first ticket. He was so kind and honest and told the staff member that he was number 3 in the queue and the ‘girls are 1 and 2’. It was the same gentleman we chatted with last year and he is getting 10 tickets for a Saturday matinee for his grandchildren and other family members. We are getting our tickets for the last Saturday evening performance.
This year’s pants is Cinderella and boom before you know it the Box Office opened at 8:30am rather than 9am!
