I had the most amazing Sports Massage today by my lovely friend, Joyce. I didn’t even know I was tight in places until she got her magic hands on my body. It is a bit like therapy… I go to her treatment room for a little catch up as she says that she has not seen me for 5 weeks… slight exaggeration on her behalf… well actually it is a massive one!! But I am glad to be appreciated at work especially after an awful day yesterday. Anyway, as I was saying it is a bit like therapy as I end up lying on her couch chatting as I am a little bit tired as I had a rubbish night’s sleep and Joyce then comes and fixes me without me even knowing that I needed fixing.
Tonight’s game plan is:-
5 minutes in Zone 1
15 minutes in Zone 2
I am loving this new style of training especially as they are going to be the ones that I do the most on this plan! They say that these types of runs will serve to develop aerobic fitness, endurance, running economy, and durability, and enable you to perform better in and get more benefit from your more challenging workouts!
I am not sure at this stage as to what the more challenging workouts are at this stage as I don’t want to look ahead as I want to take it one day at a time.
Before I know it 20 minutes is up!! It gave me great pleasure knowing that Jorge had a further 10 minutes to go!! His plan was to run for 30 minutes whereas mine was only 20 minutes.
1.25 miles achieved in 20 minutes. I am getting closer to the target average pace which was 15:44 min/mile as mine was 15.58.
Thanks once again Joyce… I felt like tiger tonight and I really wanted to push myself harder as my body felt about 15 years younger but I was good and stuck with the plan.
