Well I shall swiftly move on from Social Padel this morning. Social it was!! My performance was diabolical.
I head home to Kent to see my mum… quick visit into the house and then it is…. ‘I am off out for a run along the beach.. see you soon!’.
I head towards the beach and pull up by the King’s Hall and walk down the slope towards the beach.
It always makes me smile and giggle to myself whenever I am here as I always think I am on the Teletubbies film set!!
Today’s aim was to run for 40 minutes in HR Zone 2. It is so difficult to just keep in this Zone especially when I see older people walking slightly ahead of me… I tend to think.. I have to beat them but then I have to remind myself it isn’t a competition… it is just me against me out there and I need to be kind to myself.
Running along the beach helped me to slow down… please don’t get me wrong.. I am not fast to start off with but what I mean is not to push myself too hard that I end up in Zone 4 or 5 and then cannot carry on. Running in Zone 2 is fairly easy although I do nip over to Zone 3 every now and again.
Whilst I was running I took in the great views around me. I miss being by the sea so running here today was awesome but it also made me miss Petra.(My dog that I inherited from our next door neighbour when I was training for the London Marathon in 2011 until I broke my leg so I had to defer it.
Back home, quick bath and catch up with mum and Michael. It is a busy busy day today.
Dinner at Cafe Des Amis in Canterbury with mum, Chris, Dave, Ashmore and Liz Terry. It was so nice to catch up with friends. The meal was wonderful and the atmosphere and company was superb.
Quick dash over to The Marlowe Theatre to see Now That’s What I Call A Musical.
You come away with a real upbeat feeling and as though you have relived your own youth!
