Long Run:- 30 minutes (2.31 miles)….. that’s the plan for today. I’m not sure why they have to call it a Long Run…. when it is only 2.31miles!!
I have decided to run on the treadmill for the time being…. Although I would prefer to be outdoors I just can’t seem to get the pacing right…. I tend to run too fast to start off with and feel totally out of breath. I always think that I sound like a steam train ( I probably do to be fair). My logic is if I opt to use the treadmill I can just set the pace I am supposed to run at which is 12.57 min/mile or 4.6 mph. I really do need to remember that I have to run for 30 minutes rather than running as fast as I possible can to complete 2.31 miles. The temptation to push the buttons to increase the speed is always there but I keep telling myself… You have a plan.. stick with the plan… just trust the plan and you will be alright….
OK…. So now I need to learn to ignore my watch as my watch kept telling me that I was ahead of target…. and also behind the target.. Not sure how this can be when I have set the pace on the treadmill…. Mind you I did notice at some points I was further up the treadmill… then I would drift off towards the back!! Normally I have difficulties in running in a straight line… This is something that I still struggle with on a treadmill!!
