Get in…… tonight’s run was sooo much easier…. I stuck with the game plan to run at a slow steady pace. It was a bit annoying though… as my watch was telling me that I was running a lot faster than the treadmill. My watch told me that I ran 3.13 miles in 40 minutes with an average pace of 12:45. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a photo of the treadmill workout as it disappeared from the screen. So I decided to record it that I ran 3 miles in 40 minutes which worked out that I ran at a pace of 13.20 minute/mile. I am not sure if I was that slow as it did start to feel like hard work towards the end.. Plus in my head my legs felt as though they were running fast!!
Whilst I was running tonight, I checked my form….. I started to think about how my arms were swinging.. Were they crossing my mid line? It is a bit difficult to do this without looking at a video or a mirror of yourself running. I felt as though my right arm swings correctly but my left one felt as though it was was coming across slightly. I remembered what Penny from YouCanCoaching taught me when I was in Barcelona after few glasses of wine about hips to the lips… It may not have been that but it is how I remember it!
When I started to get tired at 33 minutes… I thought about driving my arms backwards and dug in deep and reminded myself.. That I have come along way in my training. I have been consistent in turning up on a regular basis and gradually increasing the time/mileage.
The 40 minutes went past relatively quickly but I think that was because I broke it down into sections in my head. Plus I was listening to a audiobook which also helped as it made me focus upon my running form as I was actually listening to Anatomy for Runners! The last few minutes I did switch it up a bit and started to listen to some music.
