Wahooooo…… I think this evening has to be my favourite run so far!! I loved loved it. I worked 10-6:30pm today and then I headed straight out of the door for an Easy 30 minute run around the streets of London.
Tonight’s run was so much easier than running on the treadmill. It was great. I left work and I headed towards The Mall and approached Buckingham Palace. It reminded me of all the other runs I have completed in the past and have run past The Palace. It’s great as it reminded myself that I can do this. The long slow run up Constitution Hill was hard going but it felt great. I remembered a time when I had previously ran up this hill and it was such hard work and tonight it was so much easier. Admittedly the occasion I’m referring to I had ran more than the little distance I had currently ran but hey there in no need to worry about the finer details!!
At the top of the hill, I turned right and ran along Piccadilly. I initially thought wahooo it will be full of people therefore I would get stuck and be able to take a forced rest… But woe is me…. I just sailed through. It was so magical running through the tunnel part outside of The Ritz with all the Christmas Lights. I loved it. I need to be careful with my videoing of my runs… I was a little bit gutted as I was recording when I didn’t want to record and then when I did want to; I was actually stopping the recording.
I had my disco lights on when I ran as I wasn’t sure where I was going to run… I ended up running through St James’ Park and out the other side and boy oh boy I had such an amazing view of Big Ben when I headed out of the park and looping back to work. I started to think of Peter Pan and just flying through the streets of London.
I only have 3 minute left of my run and I am thinking I can so carry on running longer than my 30 minutes that I am set to complete. I think it is because I am running at this nice and easy relaxed pace. Don’t get me wrong when I say nice and easy… it is far from it and I sound like a steam train especially when I am running up a hill or slight incline. It is a great feeling knowing that I feel that I can run further at this pace as I know that my time will increase soon.
I arrive back at work for a quick shower and then out for a quick catch up with Vicki!!
