3rd September 2024:- The Berlin

Tonight’s session was 6 x 1 minute on/ 1 minute off. I re-set my training the other day as I stopped running for a bit as I was focusing on playing padel… not though it made much difference to the results… But at least we had loads of fun along the way.

The pace tonight was 4.5mph for the Warm-Up for 10 minutes followed by 6 faster intervals for 1 minute at 6.3mph with 1 minute recovery runs at 3.8mph. Then 10 minutes Cool Down back up to the 4.5mph pace.

It was great to taste out my calf muscle as I had slight twinge in it on Saturday and decided not to run on it on Sunday. I wasn’t sure if I was going to stick with today’s plan of pushing it harder for short intervals or go for the 20 minute Easy Run. I was going to let my leg decide which one I was going to do… During the warm-up my leg felt great so I thought… Why not give it ago…. And wahoooo it held up. Not only did it hold up for the first interval but it held up for all of them.

Running at the fast pace of 6.3mph would mean that if I were able to maintain it… I would actually be running a mile in 9:34 minutes.. I am not sure if that is actually correct but to me it does sound impressive!!
