My neck and shoulders ache as where I went crashing over I put out my hands to break my fall and it jarred all the way up. I also have a dull ache across my collarbone. I have watery eyes and my glasses have gone flying.

I am so embarrassed as it is literally happened at the top of the escalator and I am now worried that everyone else will pile over on top of me and hurt themselves. A kind lady asked me if I was OK. I quickly get to my feet and tell her yes, I am fine thank you but really deep down I am not fine. I want to cry my eyes out as I have hurt everything and my hip is so painful as well. It is times like this I am grateful that I have extra padding there!

As I walk away, I end up limping and another kind man on the bench smiles at me as to say ‘Are you Ok?’ I quickly manage to get on the train and luckily I am able to get a seat. I check out some of my war wounds. I have a graze on my knee, and hands and a lump on my arm and my side is throbbing and I can feel the heat coming through my trousers but I can’t check it out. I start to get a headache and I feel sick.

I message Jorge who has already asked me if he is OK not to meet me tonight as he is in the middle of something at work and I had told him of course that is fine. I will see you when I get home. However, I text him to say I have gone flying at the station and everything hurts.

I get off the train and parts of my body as not as sore as they were but I still ache but at least my limp has disappeared or at least I thought it had until I had to walk up the long slow slope!

I had a lovely surprise as I was walking home, I looked up and I saw a familiar figure walking towards me. At first, I had not noticed him but it was Jorge, he had come to meet me to check that I was OK. I tell him I am but not really and that everything hurts and I am gutted as I won’t be able to run and I will have to pull out of a squash tournament that I was looking forward to playing in at the weekend.

Normally, I would just suck it up and carry on but I know taking the time out now is the best course of action as it will allow my body to heal.

I am writing this post a few days later and it was defiantly the right thing to do as I was so stiff the following day. Initially it wasn’t too bad but as the day progressed it got worst and I noticed a bruise had started to come out on the top of my leg. I was a little but gutted not though I want to have a massive bruise but it does not reflect the level of pain that I am in. Plus the pain along my arm and collarbone was worst. My arm feels as though someone keeps giving me a dead arm.

Well tonight after work I was supposed to do a Foundation Run of 5 minutes warm-up and 20 minutes running in Zone 2… Unfortunately, this was not going to happen as I had a bit of a nightmare at London Bridge Station.
